Milo DeMimmsy was dressed in his usual gray ridding attire. He was seated atop the massive black horse that was called Shadow Saturday. Shadow was a large horse, the largest Milo had ever tried to train. He'd dealt with large horses in the past, but shadow was defiantly the tallest.
Shadow tossed his long white mane, it was a passive gesture. The large stallion was a gentle giant to be sure. Milo could tell that Shadow was eager to get started though, from the way he patted his massive hoof on the ground and the tension in his broad shoulder muscles.
Milo had always wanted a shire horse of his own, he'd fallen in love with the breed a few years ago after seeing one in a competition he was ridding in. However, Shadow was the first one he'd ever had the opportunity to get. Milo wasn't rich and Shire horses could be awfully expensive.
Signaling with the reigns, Milo told Shadow it was time to get started. Shadow took off with a burst of speed and easily cleared the first couple of barriers. As the course went on the barriers got taller, and Shadow managed to clear all but two of the taller ones. It was a good start.

Milo quickly dismounted. Such a feat would have been a bit difficult for a trainer who wasn't quite as experienced as he was at ridding large horse but he managed it pretty easy, only tripping slightly on the landing. No amount of training could change the simple fact that he was a klutz.
He walked over to the two barriers that Shadow had knocked over. Shadow followed him, pawing the ground impatiently. Shadow was ready to start again. So Milo righted the barriers quickly before once again mounting his horse. He led Shadow back towards the start of the course. Once there he paused studying it. Shadow could do this course, they both new it. Soon Milo would have to buy a new course for them to practice on, something more difficult.
Signaling to Shadow that it was time to try again the horse took off with a burst of power and speed. He jumped easily over the first few barriers, and managed to clear all but one of the rest. Milo was pleased. This was good. This was progress.
